UPDATE: Kentucky head men's basketball coach John Calipari has officially extended a scholarship offer to Rochester John Marshall junior forward Matthew Hurt.

Hurt's father confirmed the offer to ABC 6 News on Wednesday afternoon, one day after Calipari watched Hurt play in person against Red Wing on Tuesday night. On Tuesday, Hurt finished with a single-game school record 48 points in the Rockets' 83-61 win over the Wingers.

(ABC 6 News) - The Rochester John Marshall Rockets boys basketball team typically draws a good crowd to all of their home games--on Tuesday night in Rochester, two of college basketball's most prestigious head coaches were in attendance.

Kentucky and North Carolina head men's basketball coaches John Calipari and Roy Williams, respectively, were both in attendance to watch Hurt and the Rockets play Red Wing on Tuesday. It was the first time Calipari came to Rochester to watch Hurt play, and the second time Williams visited John Marshall in the last year.

In front of both coaches, Hurt dazzled on Tuesday night, scoring a single-game school record 48 points for the Rockets in an 83-61 win over Red Wing.

Kentucky is one of the lone big college basketball programs to officially offer Hurt a scholarship.
