Rochester FC Holds Second Tryout

(ABC 6 News) – Semi-pro soccer is coming to Rochester.

Sunday afternoon, the Rochester Futbol Club held their second round of tryouts for their semi-pro team. Rochester FC is a non-profit team that showcases southeast Minnesota talent.

The team will comprise of high school seniors and graduates who are from the area.

"There's plenty of talent here, why not start something local, community-based and give the local kids the opportunity to play on the higher level” Muharem Dedic, coach and part-owner said. “Being part of this league is going to give us the opportunity to play in the U.S. Open Cup, which is an awesome thing that means we can go pretty much nationwide in case we win games and advance. This is great exposure for local talent.”

Rochester FC’s season will begin in May and run through the end of July or beginning of August.
