Prince Fans Talk about Super Bowl 52 Half Time Show

(ABC 6 News) -- Two years after his death, die-hard Prince fans in Minnesota wishing Prince performing in the Super Bowl 52 Half Time show which is happening right in his hometown of Minneapolis. But it won't happen.

Prince performed at the Half Time show at the Super Bowl back in 2007. On Sunday, Justin Timberlake is the Half Time performer in Sunday's game.


Although Prince is gone, his memory still surrounds the sights and sounds of Sunday's championship game. 

ABC 6 Sports team was at the Mall of America Saturday and talked to several people to ask them about their thoughts on rumors that a hologram of Prince might appear at the Super Bowl Half Time show. 

Here are their thoughts:

"Oh sweet, I didn't know that. So you like that? That's awesome." said Rowan Easter from Olympia, WA.

"That's good. You think that's the right way to honor Prince? Oh, yea." expressed Brandon Hoth of Stewartville, MN.

"If they do it respectfully, I think it's one thing, but if they do it in a way where it monopolizes them or monotonies' him a little bit then I think it'd be bad." Helen Mogel of Philadelphia, PA said.

"Uh that'd probably take the cake for the half-time show, that'd be pretty cool." Nick Stahnke a resident of Stewartville,MN.

"We went to Paisley Park today, ended up getting to the NFL Experience where they brought Paisley Park there, so yea I'd be very delighted to see that."  shared Ashley Murray of Mason City, IA.

"Super Bowl being so televised, I feel like it makes sense with everyone kind of paying respects for it by doing that." a comment made by Randy Vaith of Owatonna, MN.

"Oh, I haven't heard that. I don't know, it'd be pretty cool, yea."

"If they get a guitar solo with Prince jamming from Purple Rain, I would love to hear it."

"I think it's awesome. I think it's great that they're honoring Prince and I think he did a lot of great things and he's from this community, so I think it's really awesome."

"We've been honoring him all year long every time we got a touchdown, they'd play 'let's go crazy,' I hockey they play it too, so why not?"
