(ABC 6 News)- On Sunday, Owatonna Huskies senior running back, and future Golden Gopher, Jason Williamson was named Mr. Football by the Minnesota Football Coaches Association.
Williamson and the Huskies football team had a memorable 2018 season, earning their second consecutive Class AAAAA state championship title, and third in school history.
Williamson rushed for over 231 yards per game this past season, totaling 3,012 rushing yards, and 47 touchdowns (rushing and receiving), per Minnesota Football Hub. In the regular season alone, Williamson totaled 1,400 rushing yards and scored 20 touchdowns; In the section tournament, Williamson rushed shy of 1,000 yards with 918 yards.
Williamson has also been named the Associated Press Player of the Year and Gatorade Player of the Year.
