Vikings hope new additions play a factor in regular-season opener

(ABC 6 Sports) – Richard Denson was in Eagan at the TCO Performance Center for the Minnesota Vikings’ first day of regular season practice. The Vikings open the season on Sunday, September 11 at home against their NFC North division rival Green Bay Packers.

It will be the first regular season head coaching debut for the Vikings’ Kevin O’Connell and the first time new Vikings Za’Darius Smith and Chandon Sullivan get a shot at their former team.

The Vikings recently added to their receiving corps when they traded a conditional 2024 fourth-round pick and a 2023 seventh-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for Jalen Reagor.

Reagor has been known as the receiver taken one pick ahead of Justin Jefferson in the 2020 draft. Now that they are teammates, Reagor is trying to distance himself from that label. His role is still not defined but he hopes the Vikings are a good fit for his talents. He foresees himself being the number one punt returner.
