Mayo girls golf bests Century in crosstown meet at Northern Hills

(ABC 6 News) — Monday was a beautiful day for golf, specifically at Northern Hills Golf Club in Rochester.

Mayo and Century girls golf certainly agreed, playing against in each other in another crosstown matchup. The group of Mayo’s Cecilia Kuzniewski, Century’s Ciara (kee-AR-ah) Church, Jordan Hunter and Alissa Atherton all got started early, facing a par 3 before running into some trouble closing out the hole. Players like Church were able to cover the distance to green but needed a few more tries before sinking her ball.

Kuzniewski and Church finished with a double bogey while Hunter and Atherton finished with a standard bogey. Despite Kuzniewski being the lone Spartan in her party, Mayo would prevail over the Panthers in the meet, winning 400 to 412.
