(ABC 6 News) - Century senior Joey Malugani is a focal point for the Panthers, and looking to lead them to postseason success to end his career.

The center has been huge for Century, helping them to back-to-back 20-win seasons. Head Coach Josh Klingfus says Malugani's unselfish play has brought the team's level of play up.

"He's a kid that plays the whole 200 feet of the ice. He'll play as hard in the defensive zone if not harder than he does in the offensive zone," Klingfus said.

Malugani's versatility and willingness to pass the puck helped him succeed at the Elite League in the cities this fall. He was even named to the All-Star team, going against some of Minnesota's best.

Playing against such high-caliber players this fall has allowed him to have a quick start to this season. Through two games he already has two goals and four assists.

With one last season to leave a lasting impression on the program, Malugani is set on finding postseason success, and doing so with the players who have become his family.

"The same group of guys I've been playing with. Some of those guys out there since I was four, so that's fun. And then the coaches I've known since I was young. It's pretty special," Malugani said.
