(ABC 6 News) - Rochester Lourdes senior guard Alyssa Ustby announced her commitment to play basketball at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Wednesday night via Twitter.

Ustby has been courted by several Division I collegiate programs including Lindsay Whalen at the University of Minnesota. But Ustby said her visit to North Carolina felt more like home.

"I chose North Carolina for a variety of reasons, but the main reason was because of the strong relationship I have with Coach Banghart and the rest of her coaching staff along with the relationship with the players. I felt at home there and I knew that feeling was it when I stepped on campus," Ustby said.

Ustby said she is excited to join a winning tradition with the Tar Heels, and is looking forward to upping her game in Chapel Hill.

On the court, Ustby played a key part in leading the Eagles to the 2017 state tournament (first time since 2010), but her talents don't stop there. A three-sport athlete, Ustby also plays soccer and softball (2019 Class AA State Champions).
