(ABC 6 News) – Hockey forward C.J. Smith was a force in his junior hockey days in SPAMtown, a clear sign of his talent on the ice—and the NHL has taken notice.

The Buffalo Sabres signed Smith, a forward, to a one-year contract on Monday. In September, following his junior season at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, the Sabres signed Smith to an entry-level contract.
