(ABC 6 News) - Fillmore Central's historic season came to an end on Thursday night as the Falcons fell in the Class A quarterfinals.
The Falcons took on the three-seed Henning Hornets in their first ever state basketball game. Early on, the Falcons and Hornets kept it close. But as halftime approached, thee Hornets started to pull away behind some big three's from junior Megan Weber.
At the break, Henning led 32-21. In the second-half, the Hornets took off. However, a 20 point deficit was not going to keep the Falcons down.FC rallied in huge part to Kassidy Broadwater, who put on a show. She poured in 30 points, but it wasn't enough to catch up with the Hornets.
Henning won 69-56 and advances to the Class A semifinals where they will face No. 2 Cromwell-Wright on Friday at 2 p.m.
