(ABC 6 News) - The Austin Packers have a "brand new" feel to their team this year under new head coach Ed Schmitt.
The Packers went 2-7 last season before naming Schmitt- a longtime assistant- their new head coach in the offseason.
Under the new regime there will be a lot of adapting offensively. Austin lost their top 4 wide receivers, four of their five linemen and their starting running back to graduation. However, the coaching staff is excited to tap into this year's offensive arsenal because of their athleticism.
The Packers are excited to have a fresh opportunity with a new coach and a new playbook.
"The new schemes I'm excited to see how people react to them, how we're going to execute them. It's going to be nice to see everything new," senior Oliver Andersen said.
