(ABC 6 News) — Every time it’s a crosstown rivalry game, you can expect a little extra pep in the step for the players because of bragging rights.

Thursday the Century Panthers played the John Marshall Rockets in a crosstown rivalry doubleheader.

Century struck first in the top of the third inning when junior Ryan Ohm knocked an RBI single into the right field. Senior Matt Haun would hit an RBI double to increase the lead to 2-0.

Zach Carr’s RBI double would even score for the Rockets in the bottom of the third.

When it’s all said and done, however, Century would outlast John Marshall 9 to 5.

The second game was suspended in the fourth game with the score tied at 7.
