(ABC 6 News) - Lewiston-Altura is primed for a physical season after going 4-6 a year ago.
The Cardinals have been focusing on one thing throughout practice: toughness.
"You can be a nice guy in between plays and stuff. But every time that whistle blows or you're in between the lines you've got to be aggressive and that's kind of what the coaches are trying to instill in us this year," senior quarterback Blake Schilling said.
The team won their first two games last year but was bitten by the injury bug. This year they are preparing for the long haul. There is a change for the Cardinals, though, as they move to Section-A for the regular season.
Schilling will look to alleviate the transition for the offense after Marcus Weaver graduated, who set the single-season passing record for the team last year.
Lewiston-Altura opens the year on August 30 against Waterville-Elysian-Morristown.
