Caledonia Tops Proctor, Advances to the State Semifinals

(ABC 6 News) – In their first trip to the Class AA state girls’ basketball tournament in eight years, the Caledonia Warriors made the wait worth all the while.

The Warriors, the no.4 seed in the Class AA state playoffs, defeated the no.5 seed Proctor Rails in Wednesday’s Class AA quarterfinals in Minneapolis, 56-44.

Caledonia was led by standout senior Katie Tornstrom, who finished with 25 points on the night. Fellow Warrior seniors Ashley Schroeder (13 points) and Heidi Bolduan (10 points) both reached double-figures in scoring.

With the win, the Warriors will play the top-seeded Roseau Rams in Friday’s Class AA semifinals. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Williams Arena on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis.
