(ABC 6 News)- Byron teenager, Ben Adamson made his dreams come true by receiving his pro motocross license. Adamson will compete to qualify for his first ever pro race event at Spring Creek Motocross Park in Millville on Saturday.
“A long dream I’ve had for a while now, it feels good to finally accomplish something I’ve been working so hard for and I’ve been doing my whole life,” Adamson said. “Racing with the professionals will be a huge experience for me.”
Adamson, now 19-years-old has been dreaming of becoming a professional motocross racer since he was just four-years-old. Adamson has competed in multiple events across Minnesota, along with area and regional events. In the last two years, Adamson has placed in the top ten in over six racing events.
Adamson just received his pro racing license and will compete on Saturday at his first ever pro racing event. In order to compete in the actual race, Adamson must qualify in two races before racing in the actual AMA Pro National Race.
“I’m always trying to improve, I have a great work ethic, I’m just ready and anxious to get out there and start racing,” Adamson said. “I'd like to get a top twenty racing pro. There’s a lot of fast guys out there, but with the right help (support of my family) and sponsorship and my skills and ability I should be able to get to a top twenty finish.”
“My dad's been there basically every step of the way to this point we've traveled around the country we worked on bikes together, he supports me throughout my racing same with my mom, big family effort and it’s nice that its finally paying off,” Adamson said. “I’m pretty confident, pretty nervous but I’ve put in a lot of hard work and I’m excited to get out there and put out the hard work,” Adamson added.
The 2018 AMA Pro National Motocross Race will be held on Saturday from 11:30 A.M.-5:00 P.M. at Spring Creek Motocross Park in Millville.
