(ABC 6 News)- Despite the wintry conditions on Saturday, the Austin Bruins still had business to take care of. The Bruins closed out game two of the NAHL Central Division Semifinals with a 3-1 win over the Minnesota Wilderness.
Just seven minutes into the first period, forwards, Evan Cholak and Travis Kothenbeutel assisted Dan Petrick on the team’s first goal of the game.
Within the opening minute of the second period, Alex Mella scored the team’s second goal of the night, to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead heading into the third period.
The Wilderness came within a goal five minutes into the third period, but Bruins' Lane Krenzen extended the Bruins lead scoring on an empty net with approximately 45 seconds remaining in regulation.
With the win in game two, the Bruins take a 2-0 lead in the best of five series. Game 3 will be played in Cloquet at Northwoods Credit Union Arena on Friday, April 20 at 7:05 p.m.
