A congratulation is in order for Albert Lea Girls Hockey’s Lucy Stay

The senior will play college hockey at Bethel University, making the decision official Tuesday morning. With Arden Hills now in her future, she leaves behind a proud feat in helping Tigers Girls Hockey reach the State Tournament for the first time in school history.

In a Prep of the Week interview on the team as a whole, Stay told ABC 6 Sports how euphoric the moment was for her and the team.

"It’s just – it’s so insane. It’s something I’ve been dreaming about since I was really little," the senior reflected on February 23rd. "You know, growing up in southern Minnesota playing hockey. I knew it was going to be a dream that we’d have to work hard for. And the fact that we made is just so crazy it almost doesn’t feel real to me."

Stay had seven goals and 16 points her senior year with a shots on goal percentage of nearly 88 percent.
