During the Section 1A semifinals, the defending state champions, Lyle/Pacelli, faced top-seeded Grand Meadow and this game was a nail biter to the very end. In the final seconds of the game, Grand Meadow converted the ball and LP needed to make something happen if they wanted to advance to the championship game.

"We got the ball up the court as fast as we could," Lyle/Pacelli's head coach Anna Meyer said. "Lucy Nelson had a great shot, Myra Kraemer had a huge rebound and Abby had probably the shot of her life."

Athletics' senior guard, Abigail Bollingberg, with a buzzer beater that took down Grand Meadow 54-52.

"I don't remember much leading up to the shot, but I remember Myra getting the rebound, me calling for the ball, 'I'm open, I'm open!" and I just took the shot," Bollingberg said about what happened in those final seconds. "I saw it go through the rim and I hadn't really realized we won at that point, so I looked up at the clock, it had the zeros and I'm like 'oh my gosh we just won!'"

Being a senior, Bollingberg has seen her team and program grow through the years. At the same time, she has gained a ton of experience which helps strengthen her role on the team.

"She just does everything you ask of her," Meyer said. "So that's her best quality. She has so much experience, so really anything you ask of her, she is doing."

With a number of great moments in her high school basketball career, some might think it would be hard for Bollingberg to choose her favorite memory or something that really stands out. However, when asked about it, she had the answer loaded.

"A huge thing is obviously the state tournament title," Bollingberg exclaimed about one of her favorite memories. "You can't really ask for much more than that, but definitely that shot is going to stick out with me. That's kind of incredible."

Lyle/Pacelli is one win away from the state tournament in Minneapolis, MN. The Athletics will face the Goodhue Wildcats in the Section 1A title game on Thursday night at the Mayo Civic Center. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
