(ABC 6 News) - 6 P.M. UPDATE: Police are searching for a man after an attempted burglary in Zumbrota.

The Zumbrota Police Department says they received a 911 call from a homeowner who had interrupted an in-progress burglary.

The suspect, identified as a white male, in his 20s, approximately six feet tall and wearing a black shirt and shorts, with a dark-colored mask fled on foot. 

Police issued a shelter in place for residents in the area but have since been lifted.

Law enforcement attempted to locate the suspect, but as of 6 p.m. said numerous agencies exhausted their efforts and in locating the subject.

Goodhue PD, Goodhue County Sheriff's office, Olmsted County Sheriff's office and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted on the scene.

Law enforcement reminds residents to remain vigilant and keep doors to vehicles and homes locked.

(ABC 6 News) - Police have issued a shelter in place for a neighborhood in Zumbrota as an individual is being sought.

The Zumbrota Police Department says people living in the area of 9th St E, 13th St E, 12th St E, Lally Lane, 190th, and Dorothea Drive should remain in their homes with the doors locked. 

Zumbrota PD is looking for a male, approximately six feet tall and dressed in black.

Anyone in the area who sees something suspicious is asked to call 911. Law enforcement says do NOT call the non-emergency line for updates.
