Vehicle fire sparks significant grass fire along Interstate 90, no injuries

(ABC 6 News) – A vehicle fire along Interstate 90 caused a significant grass fire Tuesday evening.

Just after 7 p.m. the Rochester Fire department arrived to find a vehicle fully involved in the ditch near Mile Marker 219 with flames spreading causing a significant grass fire.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire, but the vehicle is a total loss.

RFD Marshal’s Division and Law Enforcement were on scene to begin their investigation.

Rochester Police Dept.; Mayo Clinic Ambulance, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Stewartville Fire Department, Minnesota State Patrol also assisted at the scene.

There were no injuries in this incident.
