(ABC 6 NEWS) - The Rochester Children's Museum, Spark, has been in the process of opening its new location for months now. On Thursday, ABC 6 News got a sneak peek inside.
The museum has exhibits from H2OH! and the ABC 6 Weather Lab experience where kids can pretend to be a meteorologist themselves.
"Most of our experiences are also linked closely to our focus areas, which are cultural connectedness, health and wellbeing, and steam, so science, technology, arts, and math," Director of Spark, Beth Sherden said.
Some spaces are still needing to be finished and Spark has reached 87% of their overall campaign goal to complete the space.
"We do have several spaces that we want to finish off that we can do while being open. We would love to get that final 13% or about $350,000 that we can finish off and complete our early childhood area,” Sherden said.
The museum is having a two-phase process to reopen. The first phase will have playdates where families can rent out the museum for a group of up to 30 people. In the second phase, families can sign up for play slots on the Spark website.
