RPD: Surveillance cameras capture man’s assault in downtown Rochester

(ABC 6 News) – Surveillance cameras in downtown Rochester captured the assault of a man last week, according to Rochester police.

Officers were called to the area of Broadway Ave S and 2nd St SW around 1 a.m. Friday. A 31-year-old man from Rochester was sitting on the sidewalk and was bleeding from an injury to his head.

Surveillance cameras in the area recorded the incident and showed officers how the man was hurt.

A man, later identified as 32-year-old Joseph Marshall of Rochester, was seen on video hitting the man over the head with a glass bottle.

Officers located Marshall in the area and he was arrested. Marshall is facing possible charges of 3rd and 5th-degree assault as well as disorderly conduct.

The condition of the 31-year-old was not known as of Monday morning.
