(ABC 6 News) -- Around 4 a.m. on May 9, an Olmsted County Sheriff’s deputy said they clocked a driver going more than 90 miles/hour on Highway 52 South and 85th Street.

The deputy tried to make a traffic stop at 65th Street but said the driver took off.

The deputy said the driver eventually went into a field, made a U-turn, and began to drive into the northwest quadrant of Rochester.

The driver came to a stop at an apartment complex located at 1900 18 1/2 Ave. NW.

The sheriff's office said the driver and a passenger got out of the vehicle and ran to a door where a woman was waiting to let them in.

Deputies ran the license plate and saw that the vehicle was registered to an apartment in the building.

When deputies went to the apartment, a woman answered.

Deputies said the woman was uncooperative and as they tried to detain her a man came out from the apartment and said that was his wife.

Deputies recognized the man as the driver of the vehicle.

24-year-old Langston Mercedes of Rochester was arrested and is facing several charges including felony fleeing.

Charges against the passenger are being referred to the Olmsted County Attorney's Office.
