Rochester City Council makes decisions on Chateau Threatre and Rochester parks

(ABC 6 NEWS) – The Rochester City Council held a meeting Wednesday night making decisions on the Chateau Theatre and Rochester parks.

The council voted to approve a three-year term with Threshold Arts as the new operator of the Chateau Theatre.

The agreement includes the purchase of needed furniture, fixtures, and equipment by the city that will remain with the Chateau.

Threshold Arts plans to make the theatre a place for community members to enjoy retail spaces, an events venue, art, and more.

The council also voted to advance investments in Rochester parks.

This involves $15 million for parks throughout Rochester.

Some of those parks include Soldiers Field is estimated to receive $7 million in improvements, Silver Lake would get $4 million, and Eastwood Golf would get $1.2 million.

Work on these projects could begin as early as this year.
