Robbery attempt at gun point in Rochester

(ABC 6 News) – An early morning attempted burglary in southeast Rochester made for a frightening encounter for a 36-year-old male sitting in his car.

Rochester Police received the call at 1:42 a.m. Friday reporting an attempted robbery in the 1400 block of 4th Avenue SE.

RPD said the victim was asked for money first and then the suspect pulled out a gun. At that point, the victim shut the vehicle’s door and quickly drove away to call 911. No shots were fired and no property was lost.

Police said the victim described the suspect as a black male, taller than the 5’ 5” victim, wearing a dark sweatshirt and blue jeans. Police were unable to locate the suspect.
