(ABC 6 News) - The Rochester police department said a man was stabbed at the Gates apartments in Rochester Monday night.

Police were called to the Gates of Rochester around 11:30 p.m for a reported fight with around 20 people involved.

Police arrived and found a vehicle with four people inside getting ready to leave the area but were able to stop it.  Police said 25-year-old Mohamed Mohamed got out of the vehicle and reportedly dropped a gun and kicked it under the vehicle.  Police searched the vehicle and found a small amount of cocaine where Mohamed was sitting. Mohamed was arrested and is charged with multiple counts for 5th-degree controlled substance.

Officers later received a call from Olmsted Medical Center and were told a stabbing victim was at the hospital. The 21-year-old man from Rochester had been stabbed multiple times in the buttocks area, RPD said. The victim told police he heard the fight at the Gates apartments and went to break it up.

Police said the woman who brought the 21-year-old to the hospital was in the parking lot in her vehicle. Officers learned the woman, Nyarehr Malith, had a felony assault warrant and was taken into custody.

Police said no one had been arrested for the stabbing as of Tuesday morning. An investigation is ongoing
