(ABC 6 News) - The Rochester Park and Recreation Department have placed signs at various playgrounds throughout the city notifying the public that they are closed due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak.
“We closed playground equipment as a precaution to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Parks are open. Just the playground equipment is closed,” said Paul Widman, Director of Parks and Recreation.

Windman also said the decision was made as a precaution because they have surfaces they don't clean and disinfect regularly.

That means the skate park at Silver Lake is also closed. All the parks and trails throughout the city are still open.

Governor Walz stated that even though we are staying home during the next two weeks, he stated that parks and outdoor activities are welcome.
