MN DPS: State nearing 400 traffic deaths in 2021

(ABC 6 NEWS) – The Minnesota Department of Public Safety said the state is nearing 400 traffic deaths in 2021.

The state is currently on pace for the most fatal crashes since 2007.

As of October 14, preliminary reports show 384 people have died on Minnesota roads since Jan. 1, which compares with 313 this time last year.

95 of the 2021 deaths were alcohol-related, 18 were from distracted driving, and 80 were not wearing their seatbelt.

By county, Olmsted has had four deaths, Mower three, Dodge three, and Fillmore two.
