(ABC 6 News ) -- There is something unusual happening in downtown Rochester and it's happened only a handful of times in the past 92 years.
The huge bronze doors of the Mayo Clinic Plummer Building are closed Wednesday as a gesture symbolizing the clinic closing the doors on racism.
Mayo Clinic telling ABC 6 News it is investing $100 million over the next 10 years to eliminate racism and advance equity and inclusion.
Several Mayo Clinic locations are also lit yellow Wednesday evening representing the color of hope. The doors will re-open Thursday morning to mark a new era at Mayo Clinic.
