(ABC 6 News) - The city of Rochester is looking for local performers to help spread joy across the city.

The City of Rochester, in partnership with RNeighbors, is seeking applications from neighborhoods, non-profit organizations, musicians, and performers to schedule socially-distanced performances.

This opportunity is being supported through CARES Act funding as a chance to help local performers who are under, or unemployed.

"Rochester is a really vibrant community and we have a lot of really great artists, and performing artists, and musicians. We want to make sure they're around when COVID is gone and so we need to keep them employed," says Rene Halasy, Executive Director of RNeighbors.

The grants reimburse up to $500 in costs to support a neighborhood-based or virtual performance. All Rochester-based musicians, performers, neighborhoods, and non-profits are eligible to apply.

If approved, you have to use the money by November 1st.
