(ABC 6 News) - Closing arguments took place Tuesday in the trial of Muhidin Abukar, the Rochester man accused in the shooting death of Garad Roble in 2019.

Abukar is charged with 2nd-degree murder with intent in the death of 28-year-old Garad Roble. Abukar pleaded not guilty in April of 2020.

The verdict is now in the hands of the Olmsted County district court jury, which is made up of eight women and four men.

Deliberations began Tuesday morning following closing statements from Olmsted County Attorney Mark Ostrem and Defense Attorney Paul Applebaum.

The state mentioned that Roble was shot eleven times, 4 times in the head, and 7 times in the body and arms. The state also says Roble's body was found frozen to the ground with no hat or gloves on. Along with spent cartridge casings and a 40-caliber Glock.

Prosecutors said they don't know what Abukar was wearing that night Roble was killed and they don't know who pulled the trigger.

We will continue to keep you updated on-air and online if and when the jury reaches a verdict.
