Investigation leads to arrests and drugs in Rochester

(ABC 6 News) -- Several months of investigative work leads to arrests and the discovery of heroin, marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia.

In August of 2020, the SE MN Violent Crime Enforcement Teams began a heroin investigation.

On Friday, February 19, law enforcement conducted a traffic stop in Olmsted County.

Law enforcement officers allegedly found drugs on the driver of the vehicle, 20-year-old Mackenzie Schroeder of Chatfield. Schroeder faces charges of fifth-degree drug possession and importing a controlled substance across borders.

According to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, the passenger in the vehicle, 42-year-old Sean Alexander of Rochester, was taken to the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center where a search allegedly found 24.5 grams of suspected heroin on him.

A search warrant was obtained for the home address of Alexander on the 500 block of Third Street NW in Rochester. Law enforcement allegedly found more heroin, marijuana, marijuana wax, packaging agents, and other drug paraphernalia inside the house.

Alexander faces several charges, including; first-degree controlled substance sales, possession of a controlled substance, introduction of a controlled substance into a facility, and importing a controlled substance across borders.
