Human remains found in vehicle after fire near Kenyon

(ABC 6 News) - Firefighters located human remains while responding to a structure fire in Holden Township near Kenyon Thursday evening.

According to the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, the remains were found in a burnt vehicle that was parked outside a residence on the 45000 block of Highway 56 Blvd. 

An autopsy will be performed by Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office to positively identify the deceased. 

The homeowners and residents have been accounted for.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office and Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office.
