(ABC 6 News) - A small group of students at John Marshall high school are teaming up to collect items for people in need.

Bins have been placed at several businesses in Rochester for people to donate such as 125 Live, Forager Brewery and Little Thistle.

Anyone can donate items from hygiene products to clothing.

Reese Rutherford one of the students who organized the fundraiser. She says she's excited to give back to the community.

"It's just an obvious need in the community and it's something that's a necessity regardless of whatever time it is, whether we're in a pandemic or not. So I feel like providing this for my community can make a lasting effect and I'll also be able to also continue it on through the years,” Rutherford said.

The students will begin collecting items from the bins on Monday.
