UPDATE: Two injured following crash Wednesday in NW Rochester

(ABC 6 News) -- Two people were injured following a collision in northwest Rochester on Wednesday, May 12.

Rochester Police said a garbage truck was traveling north on Valleyhigh Drive when a vehicle coming from 30th Avenue NW pulled out in front of him.

The 49-year-old driver of the garbage truck told officers he had no time to stop and collided with the car.

The driver of the car, a 50-year-old man from Rochester and his 34-year-old passenger, both suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital by Mayo Ambulance.

The driver of the garbage truck was not injured.

Rochester police and fire crews responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries in northwest Rochester Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened just before 4:30 p.m. on Valleyhigh Drive NW at 30th Avenue involving a garbage truck and a car. 

Valleyhigh Drive NW traffic was blocked off starting at 19th Street NW. 

All lanes of traffic reopened around 7 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
