(ABC 6 News) -- UPDATE: The Rochester Police Department says the boy who was pulled from Cascade Lake Saturday afternoon has passed away.
Officials identified the child as Deon McBride. The RPD says Deon was swimming at the beach area of the lake when he disappeared.
A child was brought to Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester Saturday evening after a possible drowning incident at Cascade Lake. That's according to a statement from the City of Rochester.
City officials, in a statement, said that the Rochester Police Department, Rochester Fire Department and other emergency crews responded to Cascade Lake Park at approximately 6:51 p.m. on June 27, 2020. The Rochester Police Department was made aware of a child who was missing and last seen in the lake. People who were at the lake at that time had formed a chain that extended 20-30 yards and completed a sweep. The child was found and brought to shore. CPR was performed immediately. The child was then brought to St. Marys Hospital.
Officials say this is an active investigation.
