(ABC 6 NEWS) - After hearing the word charity, one girl asked her mom what it meant. She learned more about it and 8-year-old Jose Rauch wanted to help.
Josie decided she wanted to gather up some of her things to sell and donate the money to charity. Her mom Kate and her looked for a Rochester charity. After searching, Josie and her mom picked Channel One Regional Food Bank.
"When I saw what their mission is I was like well I don't want kids to go hungry because growing kids need food and energy to get through day after day," Josie said.
Josie is selling everything from books, her old bike, and even some things Mom added to the sale. Josie says it makes her sad to see some of the things go, but makes her happy knowing that it can make another kid smile.
"I think it's sweet. And I just love her heart. And the willingness to do that. Because she is very attached to her animals and her stuff. To just see her be like that. It's nice," Kate said.
Josie's sale will still be going on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. If you would like to shop the sale or donate to the cause click h here for more information.
