75-mile bike ride for peace in Ukraine

(ABC 6 News) – Nursing students at Luther College have organized a 75-mile bike ride from Rochester to Decorah, Iowa.

The bike ride will be held Saturday and will start at Silver Lake Park around 7:30 a.m. and end at a brewery in downtown Decorah.

Riders will make a stop in Preston along the way for lunch.

These students hope to raise awareness of the crisis in Ukraine and to raise money for medical resources and equipment needed there.

"Before the conflict happened or took place, they were already in need of these resources. But now the conflict came in and it hit it badly and now the resources are even rarer," said Organizer Souk Sengsaisouk.

So far they have exceeded their goal, raising over six thousand dollars.
