February 07, 2019 12:33 PM

(ABC 6 News)-- In the effort to make prescription drugs more affordable, an advocacy group in St. Paul recently urged members of the House of Health and Human Services Policy Committee to say no to a bill that would put steeper taxes on prescription drugs in Minnesota.

During the President's State of the Union Address on Tuesday, President Trump said on average, Americans spend more on prescription medication than any other country in the world. Reports show that costs are up sharply from 10 years ago, and in the case of insulin, the price has tripled.
