Eyota Mayor Launches Bid for Minnesota House

(ABC 6 News) -- Eyota's Mayor is looking to make a move into the state House of Representatives.

Tyrel Clark kicked off his campaign for House District 26B on Tuesday.  The seat is currently held by Republican Nels Pierson.

"I am deeply committed to improving the lives, welfare, and communities of all the people in our district. I want to be [in the State Legislature] as your representative so that I can do all in my power to make sure nobody in our district is left behind.” Clark said in a statement.

He went on to say, “I will work with anybody, in any party, to get things done that will improve your lives, your communities, and your futures.”

Clark was first elected Mayor of Eyota in 2013, and previously served on the city council.  Clark has also held numerous public service positions in the community including with the Eyota Ambulance Board of Directors and Eyota Economic Development Agency.
