Previous Experience

Richard Denson joined the ABC 6 Team in October 2021 and joined the sports department in February 2022. Richard began his career as a morning news producer at WGEM in Quincy, Illinois, before transitioning to a sports reporter and morning radio co-host. After leaving Quincy in late January 2021, Richard worked as a news producer for KTRK-ABC 13 in Houston, TX.

Education

The Atlanta, GA native attended Oklahoma State University where he received a degree in sports media.

Personal Interests

Richard loves talking to any and everybody, is an avid sports fan, and actively cheers for the Atlanta Hawks, Falcons, United, Dream, Oklahoma State Cowboys, and the Chicago Cubs. He’s also a movie and TV show fanatic.

When he isn’t in the newsroom or out on the field, Richard likes watching movies, tv shows, and spending time with his friends, family, and girlfriend Daisha. He likes exploring the state of Minnesota and frequently travels to the Twin Cities.
