Previous Experience
Laura Lee joined ABC 6 News in November 2010. Born and raised in Minneapolis Laura takes pride in the unique culture Minnesota has to offer. She loves meeting people of this region and telling their stories. Laura started as an evening reporter and now co-anchors the 6 & 10 pm newscast. Along with her anchor duties, she is a veteran reporter. Her most recent work includes her investigations into the unconstitutionality of the Minnesota Sex Offender Program, the cancer cluster plaguing children in the town of Kasson, and her multi-part series investigating hiring practices and questionable spending at Rochester Community and Technical College.
Laura is a six-time Emmy nominated reporter. Her award-winning special reports and investigations have been recognized by the Associated Press and the Society of Professional Journalists. Aside from reporting, Laura also won the Judge’s Choice Award at 2012 Dancing for the Arts — Rochester’s version of Dancing with the Stars.
Education
Before joining ABC 6 News, she worked for Hubbard Broadcasting’s sister station KSTP in the Twin Cities as part of the production team. She graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism from the University of St. Thomas and was recently featured as a Communications/Journalism Alumna.
Personal Interests
Outside of work, Laura is just “Mom” to her four amazing kids. When she gets a chance, Laura loves to entertain and cook, and enjoys running and playing tennis.
