Previous Experience

Sydney Zatz joined the ABC 6 News team in August 2019. During her time in college, Sydney worked as a reporter, producer, and executive producer at Daily Iowan TV. She also participated in a practicum with the Chicago Blackhawks, a practicum with the Iowa Wild, interned at KCRG TV-9 News in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and did behind the scenes work for the Big Ten Student U.

Sydney enjoys covering a wide variety of stories; some of her most memorable times on the field include interviewing a Holocaust refugee, and covering Iowa Governor Kim Reynold’s election night event in 2018. One of her favorite things about working in news is that every day is different, and no day is the same.

Education

Sydney attended the University of Iowa where she received a degree in journalism, and sports studies.

Personal Interests

When she isn’t in the newsroom or out on the field reporting, Sydney likes to attend concerts, travel, shop, and watch reality TV. She also contributes as a reporter for Royal Central.
