Radar is already estimating over a foot of rain from Hurricane Florence. The heaviest torrential rain was primarily focused on the northeastern portion of the eyewall as Florence made landfall early Thursday morning. As the eye moves east through the day, below 10 mph, the torrential rain will continue to fall.
Storm surge will become less and less of a concern now, winds will continue to weaken but remain destructive through the weekend. But the big concern now transitions to inland areas as torrential rain causes flash flooding.
