It may look the same as yesterday, but it sure won't feel the same. Temperatures will end up about 17 degrees short of yesterday's highs. Much of that has to do with the heart of the cold air from Canada getting closer to our region along with some weaker winds. (Strong winds can help "mix up" the atmosphere and get pockets of warm air above us to come down to the ground. That's what happened yesterday!)
I did take a look to see where we stand for the month. So far the mean temperature for October - taking the highs and lows of the month and averaging them all together - is 45.1 degrees. That's about 5.1 degrees below the average of the other Octobers. That sounds significant, but it doesn't even get us to the top 10 coldest Octobers ever, the last starts at 43.2 degrees.
