It's cold out there! On Wednesday morning, we were basking in the 60s in the morning. Now on Thursday morning, temps are near freezing. A massive low-pressure system has pushed in some very cold air from Canada and it's going to be cold for a while.
With the high near 40 degrees today, that puts temperatures 22 degrees below the average. If the Rochester International Airport only does not get to 41, then that location will break the record for the coldest high temperature ever on October 11th.
With strong winds today, wind chills will be as low as 25 degrees at times. Be sure you're ready with a good coat, wind chills will be as low as 25 degrees today. And you'll need that coat for more than just a few days. Highs warm up a bit this weekend but snap back down to the 40s.
