The county says hundreds of Minnesotans become stranded on the road and suggest adding a 'Winter Survival Kit' in your car.

They suggest:

  • Blankets
  • Cell phone charger
  • Flashlight and spare batteries
  • Bottled water and snacks
  • Booster cables
  • Basic tools
  • Sand or cat litter, to help with traction
