What looked rather bleak last weekend, now looks a bit more promising on the White Christmas front. The long and short of it, the snow pack isn't melting as quickly as anticipated with still 4" of snow on the ground in Rochester. Temperatures won't be as robust as recent days from now through Christmas. But the key difference will be the anticipation of a disturbance on Christmas Day which could bring snow back to the region.
Historically, about three out of every four Christmases in recorded history have had either 1" of snow on the ground of it snowed on Christmas Day. The last time we did not have a White Christmas in Rochester was 2011.
