We're #1!

We're #1!

Thursday's rainfall pushed our yearly precipitation total (rainfall & snow melt combined) to 44.05" for the year, and we have just over 100 days to go! Officially, we picked up 0.56" of rain at the Rochester International Airport on Thursday. Locations south of there, across southern Fillmore county, and into parts of Mitchell, Howard, & Floyd Counties received even more. Harmony had 6.56", while Nora Springs, IA saw 4.6" & Chester, IA had 5.00". All of this rain has led to rapid rises in our river and creek levels, especially the Upper Iowa River near Lime Springs. The good news, we are watching the levels recede slowly, and will continue to do so as we get into our dry afternoon.
