(ABC 6 News)- Temperatures have been ranging in the 40's and 50's lately and MnDOT workers have been taking full advantage.
Around this time last year workers were preparing for snow, but this year they are using the warmer than normal weather to continue work on road repairs.
Richard Pagel works for MnDOT and spends most of his time with his team working on the roads.
“we are out doing some crack sealing, we are still doing some ditching, we are doing some tree and brush projects and kind of cleaning up the right always," said Pagel.
Mike Dougherty supervises much of the production for MnDOT in Rochester. He said he couldn’t be more proud of how the group is using this time to get ahead of schedule.
"Earlier this week they were out on the mediums, on some of the highways picking up trash which is a nice thing to do rather than having to wait until springtime,” said Dougherty
He also said while they're enjoying the warmer weather, the plows are ready to go at a moment’s notice
